Like so many others, I was swept up in blind, desperate optimism while blurring out the facts. COVID-19 is here, and its influence is vast. Take your pick of the likes of past pandemics and epidemics, and MERS, SARS, Ebola, and more are still deadlier than COVID-19, but deadliness should have never been the only quantifying factor in any of our minds. The key behind why we’re all cooped up in our homes at the time being seems more to be with the efficacy of transference than anything.
Aptly titled the ‘Redemption Roundup’, our last Weekly Roundup blog promptly vowed to “resume our curation of actually weekly [sic] Weekly Roundups.” That was on November 30th.
Jonno (Jonathan Frahm) and Zantok (Lister Potter III) are joined by pop-rock artist and big-time Smash fan Jamie Alimorad to decide on two separate Smash or Dash match-ups: Toad vs. Captain Toad and Shadow vs. Zero. They also talk with Jamie about his new album, ‘This is Tomorrow Calling’ and inspiring lead single “Brighter Days”, as well as his experiences meeting Charles Martinet and Reggie Fils-Aime.
Almost five years ago, Jamie Alimorad shook hands with Gino Vannelli to seal a verbal agreement. Revered for soft rock staples like “I Just Wanna Stop” and “Living Inside Myself”, the Canadian singer-songwriter is also a prolific producer and mentor. While touring to promote his previous release, Words Left Unsaid, Alimorad was chosen for Vannelli’s Art of Voice Master Class, and the rest is history.
